Early voting has produced a good turnout, so far

Three days into early voting for the Nov. 4 General Election and turnout so far has been fairly good.

 

In Shelby County, 789 have voted early in the General Election, including statewide and county elections; 540 in the Center ISD election; and 26 for the City of Center Council Position 2 election.

 

In San Augustine County, 445 have voted total in the General Election, and San Augustine ISD and city election.

 

Early voting continues until Friday, Oct. 31. In Shelby County, all county, city of Center and Center ISD elections vote early at the county clerk’s office on the Center square. You can cast your ballot today thru tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., also Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 26, from noon to 4 p.m. There will be another extended hour voting time next Monday, Oct. 27 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and then the final four days, Oct. 28-30 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

 

 

Early voting for all elections in San Augustine County is taking place at Election Administrator Deborah Woods' office, and at the Broaddus Community Center. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today through Friday at the elections office, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Broaddus. Extended hours will be Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 26 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at both locations. Regular hours will be observed next week.

 

Remember, you must have a valid photo ID in order to vote.
