San Augustine Grand Jury indicts man on stalking charges

An Angelina County man, already serving a prison term for stalking a female realtor there has been indicted by a San Augustine County Grand Jury on three felony stalking charges.

Eddie Lynn Bryan allegedly sent three San Augustine County women graphic-vulgar letters.

San Augustine County Chief Deputy Gary Cunningham said Bryan had no prior personal relationships with any of them.

Bryan's already serving an eight-year prison term for stalking, and a concurrent eight-year term for an unrelated burglary charge.

Texas Rangers assisted with the investigation and interviewed Bryan at the TDCJ unit in Abilene and confessed to sending the letters.

Chief Cunningham said Bryan spotted a picture of the woman in the San Augustine Tribune newspaper and sent a letter to their places of work.

Due to recent changes in Texas law, if a person sends a letter to a person that is considered harrassing or tormenting more than once, it's considered stalking. Charges were upgraded on Bryan because he had already been convicted on another stalking charge.
