Tenaha City Council decides to take bids on refurbishing police department, selling old city hall building

The City of Tenaha has decided to put out for bids on refurbishing the police department at the new city hall building, and selling the old city hall building located on the square.

Mayor Orinthia Johnson said bids will be taken over the next month, and specs for both items can be obtained at city hall.

He added the council reviewed proposed additions and changes to the employee handbook at their meeting Monday, and there were several areas the council wanted the city’s attorney to clarify before adopting the revision.

Mayor Johnson said no action was taken after going into closed session with Municipal Judge Jenny Hicks and Public Works Director Stacy Cranford.
