Center ISD hosts area superintendent's meeting with State Sen. Nichols

The Center ISD hosted a recent meeting of local superintendents from Shelby, Sabine and San Augustine counties with State Sen. Robert Nichols to discuss education issues in preparation for the 84th Legislature which convenes in January.

Sen. Nichols says education is and always will be one of the most important issues we face as a state. He added our combined goal is to ensure children have the educational tools they need to be successful.

Center ISD Superintendent Dr. James Hockenberry thanked Sen. Nichols for standing up for the needs of East Texas school districts, saying his record proves that he listens to our request and concerns.

Senate District 3 includes over 100 school districts throughout 19 counties, encompassing the greater part of East Texas and Montgomery County.
