Shelby County Commissioners' Court to consider several items at meeting this morning

The Shelby County Commissioners’ Court will meet at 9:30 this morning, and among the agenda items for consideration and possible action will be adopting a resolution that Shelby County strongly opposes the proposed new rule to define “waters of the United States”; approve county auditor to conduct an audit of Constable Pct. 4 Fiscal Year 2014 Forfeiture Funds per code; contribution of $505 to DETCOG for the Deep East Texas Legislative Reception; approve for sheriff to accept bids on vehicles; and consider creating a County Tax Reinvestment Zone covering the same property as the City of Center’s Tax Reinvestment Zone No. 14 Port-A-Cool, and then considering approval of a Tax Abatement Agreement for the same property.

Shelby County Commissioners will also be informed of the cooperative working agreement between Shelby and Panola County for the 123rd Judicial District Adult Drug Court for Fiscal Year 2015 and receive an update on the approval of the Texas Homeland Security State Administrative Agency Monitoring Grant Review for a radio grant that was approved.
