Monday is Columbus Day and is a federal holiday. All banks and federal buildings will be closed, and there will be no mail delivery. The Shelby County Courthouse and the City of Center, however, will be open for business as usual Monday, as will the San Augustine County Courthouse. On the other hand, the City of San Augustine will  observe the holiday and be closed. Schools around the area will have classes as scheduled.
