Shelbyville ISD receives TEA's Superior Achievement for the 12th straight year

The Texas Education Agency has informed Shelbyville ISD that the district has again received the highest rating from the state’s Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST): Superior Achievement.

According to Assistant Superintendent Jill Baty, the Shelbyville ISD has received the Superior Achievement, all twelve years the TEA has used the financial accountability system.

The goal of FIRST is to achieve quality performance in the management of school districts' financial resources, a goal made more significant by the complexity of accounting associated with the Texas school finance system.

Ms. Baty said the Shelbyville ISD Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing to discuss Shelbyville ISD's performance on the state financial accountability system at the regularly scheduled board meeting on Monday, October 13, at 6 p.m., in the board room of the SISD Administration Building.
