One of the timeless movie classics will be part of the San Augustine Main Street's dinner and a movie event set for this Saturday evening at the Historic Augus Theatre in Downtown San Augustine. According to Main Street Director Tracy Cox, "The Sound of Music" will be shown following a rib-eye steak dinner.

 

She says it's just special to watch the 50-year old timeless classic with your friends in a historic setting in your hometown which gives it more excitement.

 

She added Main Street has purchased a number of items for downtown San Augustine including steel benches, trash receptacles, and given out grants with money raised.

 

Doors at the Augus Theatre open at 5:45 and dinner is served at 6 p.m. with San Augustine businessman Dan Fussell serving as MC.

 

Tickets are $40 each, $75 a couple, or a table of 8 for $300, and available by calling Ms. Cox at 936-201-9798.

 

The meal will be prepared by the San Augustine County Go Texans, with help from Imogene's Cafe and Pinto Pony Restaurant.
