The average price for a gallon of regular gas statewide is averaging $3.11 a gallon, that's down a nickel in the past week, according to gasbuddy.com. In Louisiana, a gallon’s averaging $3.11, also down two pennies in last week. Nationally, the average is $3.27, which is six cents less than last week, and 9 cents less from the same time a year ago. Here at home, checking prices this morning in Center, the lowest we found was $3.12 at Wal-Mart, down four cents in the past week.
