If your kids have never seen a circus, or you're still a kid at heart, you have two opportunities in Timpson this evening to take in the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus at SoSo Park. Timpson Area Chamber of Commerce President Paul Smith says it's been some 12 years since Timpson has hosted a circus and this is one of the largest still traveling the United States.

Smith says the first show starts at 5PM and second at 7:30PM, and will feature lots of animals, trapeze artist and other entertainment.

Advance tickets continue on sale until the first showtime at Timpson Public Library and the Timpson/Tenaha News paper office in downtown Timpson. Advance tickets are $10 adults and $6 children, and will be $13 and $7 at the door.

Smith added a highlight of having a circus in town is the raising of the "Big Top", as workers will be pounding the stakes and circus elephants will be hoisting the tent at 9:30 a.m. this morning with everyone invited.
