Did you feel it last night, no, not the rumble of thunder, but an earthquake! 

After the storms went through the area last night, a 3.1 earthquake was detected by the U.S. Geological Survey some nine miles east southeast of Center, just south of Shelbyville.

The seismometers detected the quake around 11:52 p.m., at a depth of 3.1 miles.

Checking with the Shelby County Sheriff’s office, they’ve had no reports of damage reported, but a few calls.

It marked the 15^th recorded earthquake in Shelby County dating back to May 2012, with all others in the Timpson area.
