An elderly couple from Lake Sam Rayburn that went missing Wednesday has been found safe in Mississippi. Authorities say 82-year old James Cupit and his wife, 80-year old Alberta Cupit were found in the northwest region of the state, about halfway between Jackson, MS and Memphis, TN. Thursday evening.

Law enforcement agencies from Jasper to Shreveport were on the lookout for the couple.

It’s reported both have Alzheimer’s and are diabetic, and left without their medication.

The Cupits were reported missing by their home health provider. Authorities say the couple was spotted in the Shreveport area about 3 p.m. Wednesday as law enforcement found them and checked on their welfare. However, at that time they were not reported missing.

The couple also used a credit card to purchase fuel in Tyler about 7 p.m. Wednesday.
