UPDATED: Louisiana woman loses life following head-on collision in Paxton Thursday

A Louisiana woman was killed Thursday morning when she struck a tractor-trailer tanker rig head-on, five miles west of Joaquin, near FM 699 in Paxton.

DPS Communications Lufkin says the three-vehicle accident occurred around 10:45 a.m., with 50-year old Dana Bordelon Guilbeau of Simmesport, Louisiana, deceased at the scene.

DPS Corporal Jimmy Faulkner and Trooper Brady Stanaland report that Ms. Guilbeau was westbound in a 2012 Chevrolet half-ton pickup, on the wrong side of the road in a curve for unknown reason, when she struck a Peterbilt rig, driven by 36-year old Bendrick Duane Moye of Overton, head on.

Moye was taken by ACE EMS to ETMC-Carthage and reported to be in stable condition.

Behind Ms. Guilbeau was a 2013 Chevrolet half-ton pickup, driven by 73-year old Richard Leroy Gilbert of Lufkin, who was uninjured.

It’s reported Ms. Guilbeau’s pickup was pushed into his vehicle.

The Tenaha and Joaquin Volunteer Fire Departments assisted with traffic control.

Ms. Guilbeau was pronounced dead by J.P. Pct. 4 Larry “Dude” Jones.
