It's Tuesday and Don Wall's Shelby County Coaches' Show will air tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. on Q-100, KQBB.
The AP High School Football Rankings were released Monday heading into Week 5, and the Tenaha Tigers remain No. 3 in the Class 2A Poll, still behind Refugio and Mart. However, Tenaha is ranked No. 1 in Class 2A D-II by Dave Campbell's Texas Football. Alto is No. 15 in the AP Poll. In Class 3A, Cisco is No. 1, with Corrigan-Camden, 5th, Kirbyville 6th, Waskom 9th, Arp 13th, and White Oak 15th. The Class 4A Poll has a new No. 1 as Navasota takes over, with Gilmer 3rd, Gladewater 12th, Atlanta 13th, and Tatum 17th. Lufkin is No. 2 in the Class 5A Poll, just behind Aledo, John Tyler is No. 7, and Longview is No. 20. Allen remains No. 1 in 6A.
This week's high school football has the Center Roughriders on the road to play 21st-state-ranked Hardin-Jefferson for the last non-district game. In other action, it's homecoming in Shelbyville as the Dragons play Queen City; a battle of two state-ranked teams as Alto travels to Tenaha; Groveton will be at Joaquin; Timpson has homecoming as they'll take on Lovelady; it's also homecoming in San Augustine against Hemphill; Plain Dealing will be at Logansport where it's homecoming; and Garrison will close out non-district in a Saturday night game taking on Marlin in Palestine.
Volleyball schedule this week has the Center Lady Riders at home today against Bullard in the last non-district game. Action starts at 5 p.m. at Roughrider Gym. The Timpson Lady Bears will continue district as they go to Leverrett's Chapel this afternoon.
The Center Varsity Tennis team will be in Henderson at 4 p.m. this afternoon. They’ll be in Kilgore at 9 a.m. Saturday and at Spring Hill at 1 p.m. that afternoon.
