The 38th East Texas Poultry Festival Chicken Cooking Contest sponsored by Tyson Foods will be Wednesday, Sept. 24, immediately following the Doo Dah Parade. Co-chairs Denise Merriman and Natalie Oswalt say the deadline for contest recipe is today, Wednesday, Sept. 17. The recipes are to be mailed or delivered to the chamber of commerce office or emailed to info@shelbycountychamber.com. There are three categories for men, women and youth.
