Tenaha ISD Board sets Tax Rate, tables action on bids for new baseball complex

The Tenaha ISD Board of Trustees set the 2014 proposed tax rate at their meeting Tuesday night.

Superintendent Scott Tyner said the rate will be slight more than $1.18-and three-quarter cents ($1.1876) for $100 valuation, which was a slight increase by three-quarters of a penny from 2013.

He noted it was some three-cents less than 2011.

In other items, the Tenaha School Board decided to table any action on the proposed baseball complex, as they are awaiting a bid.

During a board workshop Tuesday, the Tenaha ISD Trustees discussed and approved five goals for the school year. Tyner said these included things from test scores, to administrator to student ratios, facility upgrades and extra-curricular activities.
