Local Sports Round up 9/3/14

Week 2 of high school football Friday has the Center Roughriders in their home opener against Buna for the first of three-straight home games; the Tenaha Tigers head to Brook Hill in Bullard; Garrison goes to Shelbyville in our Shelby County Game of the Week; Timpson at Harleton; and Woodville at Joaquin. Also, it’ll be Lindale at Carthage; Splendora at San Augustine; Nacogdoches at Hallsville; and Tyler Lee at Lufkin. Logansport will kick off their season at Mansfield. Center Broadcasting will have the Center-Buna game on KDET online at cbc-radio.com and on 92.5 KXXE, and the Garrison-Shelbyville game will be on Q-100 KQBB, and online at cbc-radio.com.

 

The Tenaha vs Brook Hill game will kick off at 7pm in Bullard. Tenaha ISD will release at 2:15 Friday,  in order to allow travel time to the game.  Elementary parent pick up will begin at 2pm.  By the way, admission to Friday night's game is $7 adults, $5 children.

 

The Tenaha Junior High football team will scrimmage Brook Hill on Thursday at 5pm with the JV game to follow at The Pit in Tenaha.

 

The Center High School JV and freshmen football teams will be combining for one game only versus Buna. The game will be in Buna Thursday, starting at 5 p.m. 

 

The Center Lady Rider volleyball team will be at Leverett’s Chapel at 4:30 p.m. Friday for a match.

 

Center varsity tennis will be in Jacksonville Saturday. They’ll be taking on Nacogdoches at 9 a.m., and Jacksonville at 1 p.m.
