Shelby County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 and the Ladies Auxiliary will hold a program at 10:00 am this morning at the Veterans Memorial at the Shelby County Historic Courthouse in honor of those who served in the Pacific during World War II. Sept. 2, 1945 marked the formal surrender of the Japanese aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay, and the day is known as VJ Day (Victory over Japan).
