The Shelby County Sheriff's Department is reporting two arrests were made this week involving the use of illegal drugs with children present. According to Sheriff Willis Blackwell, 36-year old Michael Lee Smith of Center was arrested Wednesday on three felony warrants, including Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and two counts of Endangering a Child. Also, 27-year old Sarah Jeanne Hite of Center was arrested Thursday morning in connection with the same investigation on two counts of Endangering a Child. Both subjects were linked to the use of meth. No other details of the arrest have been released.
