Center City Council meets today @ 5 p.m.

The Center City Council has a regular meeting at 5 p.m. this afternoon and the session will begin with a public hearing for the proposed comprehensive plan and the Fiscal Year 2015 Tax Rate. Among the agenda items will be cancellation of council election for the two at-large and District 4 positions. There will be an election Nov. 4 for District 2, between incumbent Jerry Lathan and challenger Jud Matthews. In addition, the council will approve street closure request from the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce for the Poultry Festival events; and authorize purchase of a fleet vehicle for the police department.
