"R to the Third Power" awareness program underway at Center ISD

You’ll notice new signage around Center ISD campuses with the new school year containing an “R and a raised 3” as the district is joining with others from around the state to bring awareness to respect and responsibility in school districts, communities and in the workplace.

According to Superintendent, Dr. James Hockenberry, “R to the third power, Riders are Respectful and Responsible” has been created by Center ISD as a model for behavior. He said a couple of board members attended the Texas Association of School Boards Conference over the Summer, and it focused on respect and responsibility.

Hockenberry say banners, t-shirts and bracelets have been designed, and are being worn and displayed. He added that the district is notifying parents/guardians asking for their support, and letters were given out at Meet the Teacher events, and will be done so at other district activities.

Hockenberry said awareness of “R to the third power, Riders are Respectful and Responsible” will increase through the school year.
