Nacogdoches County Judge reduces pay for new Fiscal Year

Nacogdoches County Judge Mike Perry has filed an affidavit saying he will reduce his pay by more than $24,000 when the new Fiscal Year begins Oct. 1.

Perry told the Nacogdoches Daily Sentinel that he didn’t run for the office for what it paid, and said he never promised Nacogdoches citizens that he wouldn’t increase the tax rate.

Judge Perry is reducing his income from $76, 125 to $51,953 so as to match the commissioners’ flat salary.
