The Timpson City Council will have a Budget Workshop at 5 p.m. this afternoon, followed by a regular meeting at 5:30 p.m.

Among the agenda items for discussion and possible action will be adopting the Budget and Tax Rate for 2014-15; small purchase prices from three contractors for the Timpson Economic Development Committee Project and GLO IKE 2.2 Marcus Street Improvements; contract with Pineywoods Lawn Care & Irrigation; and the contract renewal with Piney Woods Sanitation.

In addition, Timpson City Council will discuss and consider a resolution in support of a grant for solid waste, a cemetery resolution; and the city's health insurance carrier.

Among citizen input, Aneva Lane to address the council concerning street repair, and a request to reserve the gazebo downtown for a church revival Sept. 29--Oct. 5 from the Mennonite congregation.

As for the municipal court report, for the month of July, there has been almost $32,000 in fine money collected, with some $17,500 the city's portion.
