All four incumbents on the Center City Council with positions up for re-election have filed to run.

At-large council members Jim Forbes and Leigh Porterfield, as well as Position 2 Councilman Jerry Lathan and Position 4 Councilman Charles Rushing have all filed the proper paperwork to be on the November ballot.

In addition, all four of the Center school trustee positions up for election have also filed for re-election, they are: Dr. Dixon Golden, Ortega Cartwright, Jim Sawyer, and Deborah Chadwick.

The City of San Augustine will be electing a mayor and five council positions, and the Center, Excelsior and San Augustine ISD's will also be having elections this fall.

Interested individuals have a week from today, Aug. 18 to make their intentions known. I'll be updating the election filings tomorrow.
