To bring you up-to-date on a story we had last week, Sabine County Commissioners continue to look for solutions to road issues after some $2.6 million in Hurricane Ike 2.2 federal disaster relief funding was spent on a paving project that has displeased residents.
Sabine County Commissioners met with the grant writers, engineer, and contractor and material supplier at a special meeting last week with ongoing finger pointing the center of discussion.
County officials are blaming the oil/sand material, while the outside parties are saying it was an application issue by the county.
Basically, it's being reported no answers came from the two-hour meeting.
The group did agree to do a test area with the material and have a lab test run on it.
Sabine County Commissioners will meet again Aug. 11.
