Congratulation to the Shelbyville Dragon High School band for being named the runner-up in the Texas Bandmaster’s Association Class A Honor Band competition held over the weekend in San Antonio.

The Dragon band was one of 10 bands chosen from across the state to compete for the coveted title.

The Dragon band is directed by Shaka Hawkins.

The Timpson Bear Band was also competing for honor band designation.

The Honey Grove High School Band captured the 2014 Class A Honor Band title.
