Bond reductions granted to narcotic seizure suspects

Five defendants arrested last month in a narcotics raid on two East Center residences had their bonds reduced this week by up to 90 percent during a bond reduction hearing in Center.

District Judge Charles “Brick” Dickerson presided over the two-day hearing for five of the individuals arrested on charges of Delivery of a Controlled Substance in a Drug Free Zone and Abandon/Endangering a Child at the houses on Brooks and Greer Streets during the raids on June 25.

In all, seven individuals were arrested during the PCP bust with their original bonds ranging from $260,000 to $300,000.

The hearing’s five defendants Kennis Henderson, Atoshia Ayers, Tristan Patton, Trenton Patton and Nick Rushing, all made bond Wednesday night following the ruling by Judge Dickerson.

Charges were dismissed against Jamichael Phillips and Darryl Nolan, and Brandon Damarcus Roberts was released on personal recognizance bonds.
