Pam White Memorial Benefit concert, meal set for Saturday

The late Pam White left an impression on those that knew her, whether it was personally or through her duties as executive director of Shelby County Outreach Ministries. Here untimely death in April brought with it medical and funeral expenses that friends are attempting to retire with a benefit this Saturday in Center at New Life Church. Angela Waller was a close friend, and says this weekend’s event is also going to help with one of Ms. White’s ministry goals of establishing a soup kitchen in Shelby County.

Ms. Waller says there’s no admission to Saturday’s fund-raiser. A hot dog/hamburger meal will be served at 4:30 p.m. for $6, followed by a concert at 6 p.m. featuring nationally-known comedian Willie P. Richardson, and music from local contemporary Christian band, Soul Harvest and New Day Spirituals from Jasper, in addition to Brad Maule, aka Dr. Tony Jones from TV’s General Hospital. Ms. Waller says there’s been a number of volunteers that have worked to make the benefit happen.

A love offering will be taken during the evening. For those that can’t attend, donations are being accepted at Shelby County Outreach Ministries on Shelbyville Street in Center. Be sure to include “for Pam White Benefit” on the check. Ms. Waller noted an account will possibly be opened this week at a local bank where donations can be directly deposited. She added plans are to make the benefit an annual event to help with funding a soup kitchen for Shelby County.
