Doctor, nurse practioner to move practice to Carthage as ETMC ceases affiliation in Center

We told you last month that ETMC in Tyler had decided to cease their affiliation with three Shelby County first physican clinics on August 15, saying it did not make economic sense to continue, due in part to reduced reimbursements from commercial insurance and federally funded health programs.

Affected by ETMC's decision are approximately 20 employees, including physicians and mid-level providers at Dr. Jane Todd, Dr. Craig McMullen and Dr. Chandra offices.

We've received word that Dr. McMullen and Family Nurse Practioner Cicily Cross Blair will be moving to Carthage after Aug. 15. According to Ms. Blair, they will begin accepting new patients at that time at their new offices, located next to ETMC Hospital in Carthage.

As for Dr. Todd and Dr. Chandra, CBC was able to confirm through Christy Tompkins, the clinic manager for both doctors that letters will be going out to current patients by this Friday, addressing the future of both providers in Center.

We’ll have a follow up to the story when we know more.
