The scattered thunderstorms that tracked through the area last night brought with it a number of power outages according to Deep East Texas Electric Cooperative's Brittney Johnson. She said DETEC began receiving outage reports at approximately 10 PM las due to the weather. Overnight, DETEC reported approximately 800 outages, with the majority of reports in Shelby and Nacogdoches County. Crews worked throughout the night to restore power as quickly and as safely as possible. As of 8 AM, DETEC is reporting less than 50 members out in the Shelbyville area.
