What-A-Melon Festival largest melon deadline tomorrow, t-shirts available

The 25th annual What-A-Melon Festival sponsored by the Center Rotary Club will be held July 10-12 in downtown Center.

 

Among the festival events are a carnival, a variety of vendors and live music, including gospel music on Thursday, July 10. Don’t forget, entries for the Largest Watermelon Contest are being accepted thru tomorrow, July 4.

 

Watermelons MUST be grown in Shelby County, and be attached to the vine when judges assign numbers.

 

Event organizers way it’s the responsibility of each contestant to make sure that the entry form is received by the deadline. Entry forms are available at The Light and Champion and Shelby County Today office, Brookshire Brothers Grocery and Boles Feed. All completed forms will be need to be returned by the deadline date of July 4, to Brookshire Brothers, or faxed to Chandra Atholi at 936-591-8884 or mailed to her attention at 301 Wulf Creek Drive in Center.

 

By the way, WHAT-A-MELON t-shirts are at the Chamber! Be the first kid on the block to wear one!! Adult sizes are $15, Children's sizes and caps are $10.
