Chance of showers, thunderstorms today, Sunny Friday thru Sunday

We had a few isolated thunderstorms and showers move through the area last night, some with good rain events. There were no reports of severe weather outbreaks, but small hail, gusty wind and dangerous lightning were reported in Panola County, as well as areas of Sabine Parish.

The National Weather Service is saying scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible over parts of the region today, as a weak cold front slowly moves southward. While a few of the stronger storms may produce gusty winds and small hail, no organized hazardous weather is expected. Looking at the Fourth of July through the week, there will be very sllim chances of any rain, primarily Sunny skies Friday through Sunday, with highs around 90 Friday, and mid 90s by Saturday into Sunday. Nighttime lows will be pleasant with lower humidities.
