Nacogdoches business owner, Center native arrested for third time after indictment

A Nacogdoches businessman, who’s a Center native, was arrested last Thursday for a third time after a grand jury indicted him for robbery and injury to a disabled person.

The Nacogdoches Daily Sentinel reported Saturday that 59-year old William Charles “Willie” Hudson, the owner of Nacogdoches Hardware and Rental, allegedly assaulted an SFA employee June 15 at Cole Art Center and taking his keys when Hudson complained that 54-Mark Porter parked in a fire zone across the street from the entrance to Hudson’s store.

It’s reported Porter was diagnosed with throat cancer in December 2010. He received hospital treatment for bruises to his face following the incident with Hudson.

The second arrest came on June 24 when Hudson was reported to have filed a false report which claimed a female barber, and business neighbor in downtown Nacogdoches, exposed herself on June 13.

City officials have said Hudson has repeatedly confronted customers, visitors and other downtown business owners over parking issues and what he deems violations of city ordinance since he leased the former Cason-Monk Hardware building on Commerce Street.
