Cell phone "ping" lost on missing Center teen, boyfriend in Mexico

Shelby County Sheriff Willis Blackwell told Center Broadcasting Thursday that their trace on the missing teenage girl from Center that left with her boyfriend last weekend is focusing on Mexico.

Sheriff Blackwell said they lost the "ping" on a cell phone at the border at El Paso or the Mexico side of the border area.

He said right now, Mexican authorities are working in Mexico to help local and federal authorities locate 15-year old Brisedia Escheverria and 29-year old Pedro Ceferino.

Sheriff Blackwell said since the female was a minor, it's being treated as a kidnapping.

It's reported the girl left her home on County Road 3754 with Ceferino last Saturday night after her father told Ceferino he could not date his daughter.
