The Shelbyville ISD Board of Trustees made three new hires during their special called meeting yesterday.

According to Superintendent Dr. Ray West, the new S.W. Carter Elementary Principal is long-time district employee, Michael Furlow. He has over 20 years at Shelbyville ISD, and recently served as assistant principal. Furlow takes over for Cindy Coleman who left the district at the end of the school year.

Additionally, Dr. West said that Patrick Fulga was hired as a teacher and girls’ coach. Fulga comes to Shelbyville after serving as a girls’ coach in the Colmesneil ISD.

The board also agreed to employee Joyce Oliver as a secondary science teacher.
