City of Center making waterline repairs today

Center City Manager Chad Nehring has notified Center Broadcasting that Center Utility crews will be repairing a leak on the primary water line from the Pinkston water plant into town today.  This main line generally transports the majority of treated water to town.  Unlike most situations with this specific line, this leak developed between Lillian Street and Lakewood, which will impact customer services in the area of town along Nacogdoches Highway (Highway 7 West).  This includes water outage for customers on Watlington, Shari, Biggers, Lillian, Dax and Lakewood streets.

Other customers could experience lower than normal water pressure or flow.
Because of the size of the line and potential system impact from heavy usage
today, we are requesting that all customers not irrigate or otherwise use
excessive water until the repairs can be made and services restored.  It is
anticipated that the repairs can be made by this evening.  Upon completion
of any major line repairs, customers could experience some cloudy or milky
water that should dissipate by letting the water run for a few minutes.
If anyone has questions, they can reach City Hall at 598-2941.
