Shelby County Outreach Ministries searching for executive director, interim in place

After the unexpected death of Shelby County Outreach Ministries' executive director Pam White on April 29, the board of directors has been working to continue the day-to-day services to the community.

According to board president Donna Monroe, an interim executive director has been named to assist. Board member Collette Metcalf has stepped in to evaluate and oversee the operations along with assistance from other board members and outreach staff until a permanent director is put in place.

Ms. Monroe said the Shelby County Outreach Ministries Board is actively seeking a full-time qualified executive director, and has appointed a three-person committee to oversee the task. She said once that list has been narrowed down; it will be presented to the board for consideration.

Ms. Monroe expressed the board's desire to make sure the right person is put in place. She gave no time-line for naming a new executive director.

Director resumes are being accepted by board member Casey Williams at the Edward Jones office at 409 Nacogdoches Street in Center.

In a press release, the board said it's committed to finding someone who will embrace the purpose and spirit of the outreach ministries' work and help lead the organization forward.
