The Catherine Pinkston Roughrider Scholarship Foundation recognized former president and CEO of Port-A-Cool, William “Bill” Lloyd for his donations to the foundation by presenting him a plaque of appreciation this week. Lloyd is now a Gold Level contributor, making him the third individual to reach the $50,000 plateau. Lloyd retired from Port-A-Cool in January, and has been very involved in civic organizations in Center, including the Center Rotary Club and other groups. He says he’ll remain in Shelby County and continue to be active. The Catherine Pinkston Roughrider Scholarship Foundation has over $2 million in assets and has given more than 1,500 scholarships totaling over $1.2 million since 1989.
