Early Voting Continues Through Friday for Party Primary Run-off

Early voting for the May 27 Party Primary Run-off Election continues through Friday, May 23. There’s no local election run-off in Shelby County, but there's one in San Augustine County, between Steve Bryan and David McEachern (McKatherine) for the Republican Party Pct. 4 Commissioner position.

There's several state-wide Republican Party run-offs, including the nominee for lieutenant governor between incumbent David Dewhurst and Dan Patrick, state railroad commission nominee between Wayne Christian and Ryan Sitton; attorney general between Ken Paxton and Dan Branch; and state agriculture commissioner Sid Miller and Tommy Merritt.

Democratic state-wide run-offs include U.S. Senate as Kesha Rogers faces off with David Alameel; and commissioner of agriculture as Kinky Friedman takes on Jim Hogan.

Early voting in Shelby County is taking place at County Clerk Allison Harbison’s office on the downtown Center Square from 8 to 4:30 through Friday, while San Augustine County voters can cast their early ballots at Election Administrator Deborah Wood’s Office in the El Camino Justice Center from 8 to 4, and the Broaddus Community Center from 9-4.

A reminder: If you voted in a party primary, you can only vote in that same party’s runoff”.  If you did not vote in the March 4 Primary you may still vote and can vote in the runoff election for either party.
