Tyler, TX - The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is celebrating Disability Employment Awareness Month this October with events around the state that connect employers to skilled workers who happen to have a disability. Texas HireAbility is a partnership between the Texas Workforce Commission, the Texas Governor's Committee on People with Disabilities and the Texas Workforce Solutions network to raise awareness about the benefits of hiring people with disabilities and to highlight the contributions of people with disabilities in the workforce.
Workforce Solutions East Texas will be celebrating locally with CONNECT-ABILITY, a reverse job fair for employers to have the opportunity to learn about the benefits and services available for employing individuals with disabilities, and job seekers to learn about Work Readiness services offered through our Qualified Job Seeker Training program. Approximately 30 employers have committed to participate in the event. CONNECT-ABILITY will be held on Thursday, October 25th, at the Workforce Solutions East Texas center in Tyler located at 4100 Troup Hwy, from 9 AM - 11 AM.
Businesses are invited to participate in CONNECT-ABILITY, providing the following benefits to employers:
