Shelby County Sheriff Willis Blackwell reports the arrest of Aubrey Neal Graves, 47, of Center and Jessica Hedges, 32, of Center.

 

On December 19, 2017 Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Chad Brown was notified by Child Protective Services (CPS) that a court order had been issued by the State of Texas to remove a one year-old child in the care of Graves and Hedges. Brown tracked Graves and Hedges to a motel in San Augustine on December 20, where officers with the San Augustine County Sheriff’s Office detained the two and CPS took custody of the child.

 

On December 21, 2017 a hair test was performed on the child and a positive result was returned for methamphetamines.

 

A warrant was issued for Graves and Hedges for Abandoning/Endangering a Child (SJF) on January 11. The two were arrested in San Augustine County January 12 and released January 14 after each posted $10,000 bonds.
